..."Unfortunately, these results on the above staff members indicate that the individuals must be removed as certified staff. At the best, these individuals may be placed in a support position such as administrative clerk or assistant. If you choose to place these individuals in a support position, obviously there is difficulty justifying the current salaries." –C.Centuolo
---Especially AFTER the public’s outcry regarding the salary, under-qualification and non-certification issue surfaced???
And to add further insult these ladies who were deemed no more qualified than to serve as Admins are now Cabinet Members!
There's something rotten in
This is about as transparent as the HUDSON and it’s time for the Board of Education members to Act!

Renata, me again, if you were a BOE member and knew this was going on, would you wait for the county SI to call you, or would you request meetings of reassurance where all it is discussed? Hope you let us know what your "style" will be. Thanks!
I would ask for a meeting with the BOE. My initial thought would be to have the conversation with the 9Members,but seeing that contractually this would not be possible that worries me greatly. There is no provision for the BOE to actually perform their responsibilities to the community! Additionally, I need to see/understand if there is latitude to reach across the isle i.e. NJSBA to mediate. I'll blog a more complete answer later. As for my style -- You can expect that it will be as it is -- UP Front and Personal. Of course I will have to work within the "laws/regulation" prescribe to BOE members but I'm taking all of me with me on the JOB on the BOE!
Thanks Renata,
I expect you to be as passionate on the BOE as you are on your blog, but I do equally expect you that you read and understand what can be done and what can't, I am still learning myself. And I expect choices and votes to be made on facts that are on black and white, and not personalities, perceptions, and worst, rumors.
Thanks!
Maria-- if nothing else I have proven, and there is more than a years worth of writings to support this, that I am not moved by personalities or rumor -- I move on the facts -- but all facts are not black and white to be sure, and I will exercise my right to my opinion that is based on my impression/interpretion/understanding of those facts and circumstances. In the simplest of terms -- you can "BET Your BUTT" that I will study up...and i suspect, at least I hope we will all be more enlightened by what I discover as I endeavor to serve the Plainfield Public.
Well, as a matter fact, that is the job the the BOE, to interpret facts and communicate them to the community to hopefully gain support for the school district. But there must always be a fact, might not be on black and white, but a fact is a fact, and when it comes to school matters, almost always there is a black and white document that is OPRAble since schools operate with tax monies.
Also, keep on mind, that sometimes much passion bad displayed scares people away. I'm just sayin'.
Yes, but if I do my part and the community doesn't do theirs then has the "learning" the transferring of knowledge taken place. The point is whether I read the facts and share them...is for nothing if no one is their to hear them and if the community DOESN't Do THEIR JOB and act/react accordingly.
That is it in a nutshell -- WE ALL HAVE A JOB TO DO in turning around PPSD!
And I'm just saying -- I cannot worry about people who might be put off -- if they are -- they have been before now given my last 5 years of servicing the school community and voicing my OPINIONS.
I need the support of people with the courage to ask me what I mean/meant/think/said. Because although I'm running for the position I am clear it will be these very people who will ensure any activity I undertake will be successful.
I'm really NOT going to change who I am. You will either vote and support me based on who I have SHOWN myself to be over the past 5years or you will not. I cannot pretend or lessen my passion because others MAY be put off. Others MAY also be encouraged and motivated by it...
(Note: Poorly displayed anything will put people off Maria --whether it's passion or uncompassion, information gathering or sharing, anything done badly risk being a put off, but to do nothing is far more worse.)
I will win this because people believe that who I am, what I believe in, what matters most to me and how I interact with the public CURRENTLY will help to move this district forward.
I'm not perfect... But I am PRESENT, Willing and Able to...
And being present and trying is what counts. You said something that I liked, just as some people will be discouraged by your "flamboyance" some others will be attracted, and as long as on this trip we all learn to tolerate and accept each other the way we are without trying to tear down those ones we don't like for this or that, because after all it's not a personal battle, it's a battle to improve the district. If we can manage this, then we'll all win.
My grandma used to tell me that "we are not a gold coin to be liked by all but you do your best with what you have and then you rest". Today I say the same thing.
As for all having a job? I have mine, being working hard these past two years, and are ready for slowing down a bit so I can dedicate my days to something more fun and relaxing.
Good luck! And didn't you say you had lots of things to do? That is why I disconnected the comment box, it's too tempting to be answering messages all day long. Go out, enjoy the sun and the mild climate, and let those ideas start floating for a great campaign.
Talk to you at your next post!
LOL...thanks for the laugh Maria -- Turns out I have help doing the "things" so I have time for blogging. LMBO!
And YOU CANNOT rest now --it's just getting GOOD! I need you to KEEP DOING WHAT YOU ARE DOING. We all have a purpose for which we are called and the end -- comes the TRUTH!
I look forward to seeing you at the MIC!
It is going to take a cross-section of people to get US where we need to be!
