Dear Governor Christie and Commissioner of Education;

I, a Plainfield property owner, parent of a student in the Plainfield Public Schools district and a New Jersey taxpayer, wish to exercise my vote of NO CONFIDENCE in the current Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, and the majority of the Plainfield Board of Education.

Following are various articles which have been published over the past 3 to 4 months concerning our Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent, two high-ranking administrators and the Board of Education. As you read through these articles (they are posted most recent to the oldest under each category), you will see the undeniable tragedy of this city's circumstances. I am requesting your assistance to bring this to a close in a manner which will serve the interest of the public fairly, openly, and appropriately, and not withstanding the absolute and complete removal of the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Misses Borge and Kelly.

Let me get this straight. One person out of 57 thousand is a vote of "No Confidence"? I must remember that when you get elected.

It is MY vote of no confidence...I'm sure others feel the same.

You entertain me.

Where is the phone number so we can start calling the Governor's office. Maybe we can use your letter as a template.

Thank you for your work!

@ Tony ...

If you read her post, you would clearly understand it stated "MY VOTE".

Wow ... don't let ignorance get you down, Renata!

Thank you for your commitment to our students and community.

Others DO feel the same. Lots of us!

Many others feel the same and would be more than happy to vote in the same manner....sorry Tony- I think you may be outnumbered. Do you work in the district??? Perhaps you have not seen the mess....let's give you the benefit of the doubt.

Well Renata, maybe we can all email your letter to the Governor. I'm sure there will be more than just one vote of no confidence! We have to start somewhere....one vote turns into 2 votes turns into 4 votes, etc., etc.

I love you GUYS even Tony (he/she) will keep me on my toes. I suspect there are many more like him/her.

I'm posting the address, email, phone and fax number for these folks next. Please feel free to copy this post and send it on.

If we have to get a bus down to Trenton to get them to HEAR us... That's next!

@everyone, (could be Renata in disquise *smile*. The Governor is against Unions. As soon as he sees the letter sent by the Union President he will either throw the letter away or start liking Mr Gallon for sticking it to Unions. *enemies of my enemies are my friend* Second, his anyone took the time to read the Gov Transition team recommendations, they want to give more power to local government. Meaning; if you dont like the way your school is being run, vote out the BOE.

Lastly, I at least I have the courage to put my name on my comment, Anonymous=cowards

@1124,
I recently retired from the Army after 24 years of service. I was considering teaching as my second career. I am not from Plainfield, so I dont the same sense of fustration and I dont live in a bubble. After reading all the blogs and negative media about the school system, I decided not to teach in Plainfield. I will work elsewhere. The world is bigger than Plainfield and even NJ, we have to make sure are kids are prepared to compete.
