A question about board members, Renata. I thought they were bound by ethical rules not to talk to the press about these kinds of investigations but two of the board members were in the report. Can they get into trouble for this, since they were speaking as representatives of the school board?

Actually both of them gave Arnold statements that they WERE NOT speaking on behalf of the board but rather as citizens of the city of Plainfield. I was there -- and they absolutely insisted that he record them making that disclaimer and he agreed to do so.

Clearly the disclaimer was edited out for shock value. Nothing new was revealed. He just repeated the same thing that has been common knowledge for the past few months. What did kind of catch me off guard was the salaries he quoted. Unless they have received two increases since they were hired, one would think the final dollar amounts quoted are what they make now.

I see the purpose of why this needed to be exposed but what this confirms is the citizens of Plainfield don't demand more.

If we have learned nothing else from this saga, it's clear that we NEED to get out and vote!!!

Renata,
If your truly for the children then walk your talk. The two board members who spoke to the press were totally out of line as board members. Even if one of them happens to be your running mate it still do not make it right.

Anonymous -- I totally DISAGREE and further...they have a 1st Amendment Right to speak their dissatisfaction of what is happening in THEIR town. Please do tell HOW they violated that? Seems like you have an inside track...you knowing my running mate and all... And use your name -- so I don't accuse you of NOT Walking YOUR TALK!

Holla!

11:12 I have to agree with Renata in that both board members spoke as community members only. They did nothing more than speak about a situation occuring in their city. What have YOU done?

Board members are sworn to uphold the law and provide oversight with respect to educating children. It's called an OATH. They are not sworn to cover up wrong doings nor should they be looked down upon for disclosing the truth. As they say the truth hurts.
