2009 Election Candidates


The Board of Parents Empowering Parents (PEP) formally invite you to participate in a Candidate's Forum being held on March 30, 2009 from 6:30 PM –8:30 PM at the Washington Community School on Darrow Avenue in the city of Plainfield, New Jersey.

The format will be as follows:

· Each Candidate will be given 2 minutes to provide their opening statement highlighting what they believe are their key value-add to the board position being sought.

· Next -- myself and two other commentators will ask questions that have been submitted by the public and/or PEP and vetted to ensure they align with our mission, vision and core goals and objectives. (See enclosed brochure)

· There will be 3-5 Core Questions (depending on the time) asked of each candidate. Each Candidate will have 3 minutes to respond. This will NOT be an open debate due to the number of candidates and limited time, which we feel, would not allow for candidates to adequately address, rebut and readdress current public education issues.

· Each Candidate will have a 2-minute closing statement period

PEP will use the Blog registered as PEPTalk (http://hopeeternal-peptalk.blogspot.com) to advertise this event as well as provide each of you a “free” ad space that will run for ONE day during the week of March 15th leading up to the forum. There will be Two Candidates Posted Daily. The AD will include your photo, your name and positioning statement as well as key accomplishments or goals.
